Jeff Gordon, CFA is a Managing Director of the Transaction Opinions Group in the Investment Banking Segment of Duff & Phelps, LLC. Since joining Duff & Phelps in 1985, Mr. Gordon has been involved in approximately 1000 corporate transactions and financial advisory engagements for public and privately held firms, primarily advising boards of directors, special committees of the board, CEOs, CFOs and their corporate counsel with regard to fairness and solvency opinions, as well as board advisory and other business valuation issues. Clients include those in real estate, business services, technology, energy, manufacturing, transportation, and the health care industry, among others. Past clients have included corporations such as UPS, Hyatt Hotels, Toys R’ Us, TransUnion, Peabody Coal, Litton, Sears, Geo. Ball, Valero Energy, Jordan Industries, Fannie May, Duke Realty, Vornado, the Marmon Group, Bunn-O-Matic and 7-Eleven, as well as private equity firms including Bain Capital, KKR, the Carlyle Group, GTCR, Wind Point Partners, the Robert L. Johnson Companies and others.
Mr. Gordon has written extensively on corporate finance topics for such publications as the Journal of Business Strategy, Financial Executive, Accounting Today, Chief Financial Officer and Commerce Magazine. He has lectured groups of corporate attorneys on fairness and solvency issues for well over 20 years.
Mr. Gordon graduated with distinction from Swarthmore College with a BA in Economics and received his MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan (now known as the Ross School of Business). He is the current President of the Ross Alumni Club of Chicago, a Vice President of the American Jewish Committee/Chicago Region, and a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute.
